In the municipality of Mosfellsbær, you can find the small waterfall Tungufoss. The waterfall is roughly 13 ft and is the lower part of the Köldukvísl river.
Known as ‘the Jewel of the Westfjords, Dynjandi is considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. It is located on the Arnarfjörður; the second longed fjord in the Westfjords.
Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe, with a water flow of 6,186 cfs (193 cms). The waterfall is created by the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, where it spreads out 328 ft (100 m) and plummets 148 ft (45 m) into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. You can find two more impressive waterfalls within the canyon, Selfoss and Hafragilsfoss.
Stigafoss, also called Stigárfoss, is passed by every day. Despite being in plain sight and a beautiful waterfall, it’s Iceland’s 5th tallest waterfall!
Hangandifoss is one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland. The most consistent measurement from online sources cites Hangandifoss being 123 m in height, and however, it ranges from 110 m to 130 m. The name Hangandifoss is similar to Hengifoss, which both names translate to “Hanging Waterfall.”
